About a week ago Sony announced their new line of headphones just in time for the spring season. There are several different models all aimed at different types of users. However, we’re primarily concerned with their new sports headphones.
We haven’t actually seen them (in person) yet, but here’s a sneak peak.
You may have noticed they look (exactly) like the Sony MDR-AS20J released back in 2008. As far as we can tell there isn’t much difference, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
The original Sony MDR-AS20J along with the Sony Ultra Lightweight MDR-108L are some of Sony’s most popular workout earphones, so it makes perfect sense not to change a whole lot.
Though we haven’t tested them yet, here’s what we’ve gathered are the main changes just by doing a little bit of research:
- Improved sweat resistance
- Changed color to white
- Improved over all sound quality with dynamic drivers
Other than that it’s hard to see any differences. It appears these are going to retail for $19.99, though hopefully we can find them somewhere cheaper.
Stay tuned for our review on the new Sony MDR-AS20J/WHI.
