Can we officially say that Beats Electronics are officially marketing geniuses?
We recently talked about the sneaky marketing campaign that Beats used to possibly influence athletes at the Olympics to wear their headphones. Well, it’s officially paid off.
John Lewis recently announced that sales of Beats Headphones have increased over 116% just since the start of the 2012 Olympics.
“Music often plays a big part in sports – whether you’re a first time runner needing some musical motivation, or, as we’ve seen over the past couple of weeks, an athlete who needs to get pumped up before they compete in front of the world,” said Robert Hennessy, Audio and Imaging Buyer at John Lewis.
While the rest of the economy seems to still be stagnant it should be no surprise that the sports headphone market continues to boom, especially with monster marketing campaigns by Beats.
