You could probably spend the next few weeks just looking at fitness apps every day. Well, we’ve got a better plan. We’ve already done the research for you.
So, instead of looking through potentially hundreds of apps, just take a look at these and get back to working out.
5 Amazing Workout Apps for iPhone
Unfortunately we weren’t able to test every single workout app available, but we did look into quite a few. We also took a look at what other people were claiming the best workout apps were just to compare notes.
Without further ado, here’s out list:
BeatBurn
It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that this app was at the top of our list. Created by lolo, BeatBurn capitalizes on the use your favorite workout tunes to energize your workout by changing the beat of your music to match your pace.
Play your own music or use 1 of 24 built in fitness songs, perfect for the days you’re just a little tired of your same old playlist but still want the added energy of music.

RunKeeper
This is the one workout app that everyone seemed to have on their list and while we would love to disagree, it’s tough to beat RunKeeper. You may have noticed how incredibly expensive GPS running watches are, well they just got a lot cheaper with RunKeeper. Map our your runs using the built in GPS in your iPhone or add them manually if you hit up the treadmill.

Lose It!
Lose It! is very similar to the already popular My Fitness Pal, with a little bit of a more user friendly interface. It’s basically a budget for your body. Track your calories and exercise each day to ensure you stay within budget and watch the pounds melt right off.

Fitness Buddy
As of writing this Fitness Buddy was one of the most popular workout apps in the fitness market. Fitness Buddy takes a little bit getting used to, as it’s one of the more complex apps, but with over 1700 workouts available and your own personal workout journal it’s hard to beat.

Nike + GPS
It’s hard to have a featured apps list without including something by Nike. They revolutionized the workout market when they created Nike + and eventually teamed with Apple. This app is actually somewhat similar to RunKeeper and while RunKeeper seems to have a slight edge the social addition of tracking between friends and family along with Nike’s online support may eventually push this app to the top.
