Pros

Sweat Resistant.  We’ve always had a good experience with the Yurbuds headphones repelling sweat and not getting damaged and these are no different.  As we’ve mentioned before some people have complained about this feature, but we’ve still never had a problem and attribute it to people not inserting the ear gel completely into the ear canal.

Sound Quality.  Great sound quality, but sometimes the ear loops didn’t allow for a proper fit which decreased audio quality.

Cons

Ear Hooks Aren’t Moldable.  This is just us being picky, but we always prefer memory wire as opposed to silicone ear loops.  Just allows for a better fit.

Comfort.  The earbuds, which use the patented TwistLock technology were comfortable as usual, but combined with the ear hooks we just didn’t like the fit all that much.  Still love the Inspire Pro though!

Every time we review a new Yurbuds product it’s very difficult to be completely biased because, to be honest, all of their products use the same technology with slight tweaks.

We blew up a picture of the Focus Pro Ear Hooks below which is what sets apart of the Focus from the Inspire.  Some people may absolutely love the added stability of an ear loop, but we had trouble getting a comfortable fit since they are made out of silicone they don’t hold their shape.

Other than that we liked these headphones.  We’re big fans of the soft ear gels and the shape of the ear gels that Yurbuds uses and almost always get great sound quality.

These particular headphones come in two different types: Focus and Focus Pro.  We reviewed the Focus Pro which also come with an in-line remote for volume control, track skipping, and answering calls.

Overall we like Yurbuds, but recommend the Inspire over the Focus unless you’re dead set on having headphones with ear hooks.

Pros

Water Resistant Dry Mic.  The addition of in-line volume controls and a microphone, a sweat resistant one at that, takes the Yurbuds to the next level.

Patented Twist Lock Technology.  Completely unique design in terms of the ear bud, which allows for a perfect fit.

Ultra Soft Earbuds.  We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, the high grade silicone used is super soft.

Cons

Sweat Resistant.  We don’t actually have any complaints in this department, but it would be unfair not to mention that others have complained about their sweat resistance.  In all honesty this is likely happening to people who aren’t inserting the earbud into their ear canal properly.

What’s odd is we haven’t heard a single complaint about the Yurbuds Inspire regarding sweat resistance.

We didn’t notice a single difference in terms of sound quality and comfort when compared to the Yurbuds Inspire Ironman Series.  Check out our previous review here.

Our quick recap is that these headphones sound great once you find a good fit, and their TwistLock technology keeps them in palce pretty much no matter what.

Where we did notice a difference was the added functionality of in-line controls.  We’re seeing more and more sports earphones offering this feature.

There should be no question why we’re seeing this added feature on most new workout headphones.  As more and more people are using either an iPhone or iPod when they workout, more and more people are going to want in-line controls.  Who wants to have to take out their iPod every few minutes just to change a song?  No one.

The Yurbuds Ironman Series In-ear Sport Headphones were created by athletes for athletes.  To be more specific the Yurbuds earbuds were created by an Ironman Triathlete for the sole purpose of developing sports headphones that were comfortable and would never fall out.

Pros

Exceptional Sound.Yurbuds spent a great deal of time testing the acoustics for these headphones and they ended up with a great quality sound.

Ultra Soft.  The earbuds are made out of medical grade silicone and specifically designed to avoid nerve rich areas of the ear for a more comfortable fit.

Multiple Color Options. The Ironman Series comes in red, blue, or pink.

Cons

TwistLock Technology.  Yurbuds utilizes a new twist lock technology to ensure the earbuds don’t slip out during a workout session.  It seems that either you love this feature or hate it.  We love it, but recognize that other people have had issues with it.  Check out the video below for a better idea of how the TwistLock technology works and why we like it.

It’s very rare that you find a pair of headphones that: 1) looks awesome, 2) sounds amazing, 3) performs incredibly.  There really isn’t anything bad to say about the Yurbuds Ironman Series Sports Headphones.  They spent a lot of time and effort into developing a product that meets the top 3 concerns of most athletes:

1. Are they comfortable? Unbelievably so.
2. Will I have problems if I sweat a lot.  Absolutely not.
3. Are they going to fall out halfway into an intense workout? Never.

The one thing we really like about these sports headphones is the feel they give.  It’s not just the fact that they’re comfortable, because a lot of headphones are comfortable.  There’s something about the Yurbuds that just make you feel like a top notch athlete when you put these on.

In addition to all of that we’re really starting to lean only towards headphones that offer replacement earbuds and a storage pouch or protective case, both of which is offered by Yurbuds Ironmans.  If you’re serious about your workouts you will definitely go through multiple earbuds, and already having a backup pair is perfect.  The great thing about the case is its also the perfect size to toss your iPod in to go to the gym.
